Scott Jones has just returned from a two week visit to Ethiopia. During the first week he attended a conference on Drylands Agriculture with colleagues from Drylands Coordination Group in Mali, Sudan, Ethiopia and Norway, and delivered training on “Translating Research into Practice – ensuring that research is as relevant as possible for the people that researchers are ultimately trying to reach.” In the second week he worked with colleagues from Mekele University, ICRAF, the Tigray Agricultural Research Institute to advance our work on African Mountain Forest restoration. We visited field sites, held discussions with Afar and Tigrinia farmers and agreed our next steps. Scott is currently writing a report from this visit to take actions forward – so stay tuned for more exciting news!
