Afua’s main interests are in livelihoods, environmental degradation and its human consequences, individual development, and organisational change. Her recent first-class honours BSc Environmental Science adds to her strong research, interpersonal, communications and IT skills.
Afua is particularly interested in how environmental justice and legal frameworks can support equity and fairness in natural resources management and environment - regardless of people’s race, culture, income or educational background. She is involved with supporting faith groups and religious circles to promote environmental responsibility and has experience working with teenagers and church groups to do this.
Afua won first prize for her work in a waste management project for a national Geography Fair in Botswana, where she also worked as a volunteer youth worker. She recently worked for a year with the UK Environment Agency as a data & monitoring assistant. |
