Communities and Partnerships

In Britain, Mind the Gap provides skilled facilitation and capacity building mainly in:

  1. Local Strategic Partnerships, and linking Sustainable Community Strategies with Local Area Agreements and initiatives such as the Safer and Stronger Communities Fund,
  2. Neighbourhood management and community cohesion, and
  3. Biodiversity action planning and partnerships

We also work with agencies, regulators and service providers seeking to develop or improve their partnership work, including housing, police, fire and rescue, health, education, environment, water and transport-related agencies.

Internationally, Mind the Gap generally works with UN agencies, local and international non-government organisations, and through international development assistance organisations focussing on community engagement and partnership working.

Much of our activity involves participatory approaches to community engagement and working with diversity in communities and partnerships.  Mind the Gap links with associates and partners to provide diversity training and support that goes beyond compliance toward the real added value that diversity brings.

We have written up a UK example of community and partnership work (see Kingfisher Project). Further case studies will follow. An international example of private sector partnership research and capacity building may be found here.
