Conflict Management
Conflict is usually seen as negative. But conflict can also present opportunities for helpful change. Mind the Gap focuses on research, facilitation and training that can help overcome the negative aspects of conflict and develop the useful aspects.
We focus on sound analysis, sustainability and developing skills for the long term, so that people can continue to address issues safely and with confidence.
Mind the Gap’s conflict management work ranges from short-term support for individuals, to customised facilitation, training or research for businesses, agencies and government departments.
We specialise in linking complex change management involving many groups, with the individual support that key people need.
We can provide a single worker for relatively straight-forward work where numbers are few. However, we find that diverse, mixed-gender teams provide cost-effective flexibility and safety in more complex environments.
Much of our work is in environment, biodiversity, conservation, protected areas, ecosystem management, and natural resources such as forestry, wildlife and fisheries.
We also work with agencies in development and disaster management where violence, war or post-conflict circumstances are obstacles to progress.
An example chapter from one of our conflict management manuals may be found here. Recent published conflict management work may be found in our publications.
