Mind the Gap aims to support positive change in individuals and organisations, and to contribute to sustainable development socially, economically and environmentally.
Our beliefs and values:
- Be practical - it has to work for people - keep it safe, keep it useful
- Strive to work ethically and do no harm
- Respect and confidentiality - the client is in charge
- Be gender aware - strive to understand and respond to the gendered implications of all our work
- Be culturally aware - work hard to understand and respond to the cultural context in which we work
- Be environmentally aware - search for opportunities to work positively for the environment and minimise our negative environmental impacts
- Contribute - try to make a positive difference, only get involved if there is evidence we can help
- Volunteer - identify groups that cannot afford to pay. Do some work for free where there is a need
- Be cheerful and optimistic - embrace fun
- Be humble - start from what is already there, identify and build from people’s strengths and what people have; we may not have the answer
